An engineer from Trinity College Dublin with over 30 years of experience, Tom is a well known figure in the Irish energy sector. Internationally he has also developed a range of large scale energy projects using a variety of energy saving and renewable technologies. As a highly respected energy advisor, he has acted in this role for many large international companies and his business successes were recognised by Ernst and Young in 2008 when he was a finalist in their Entrepreneur of the Year competition.
Tom’s passion for energy and renewables is infectious and is matched only by his love of Dublin GAA! He divides his time between Dublin and Dingle and loves spending his spare time in outdoor pursuits such has hill walking and kayaking.
Pat is an engineer from University College Dublin and has a Masters in Energy Engineering, also from UCD. Pat established Astatine with Tom, but the two of them have been working together on major energy projects for well over a decade. Pat’s specialities include Renewable Energy, Commercial Modelling, Project Financing, Project Delivery and Management.
Pat’s love of engineering extends to his personal life where he can often be found under the hood of a car fixing one thing or another. When there’s nothing left to fix he’ll be hiking the countryside with his dog. His proudest accolade however is being Planet Blue Energy’s reigning pool champion!
Another UCD Engineer, Frank has 30 years of experience in the international and domestic energy sectors. He started his career in the oil and gas sector working with the Irish arm of a gas turbine manufacturer before giving up the international travel to settle into various roles in the Irish energy sector including establishing Ireland’s largest supplier of micro combined heat and power systems to the commercial sector. He joined Planet Blue as General Manager after working in an advocacy role promoting closer links between Irish and German companies in the renewables sector.
When not thinking of KW’s or MW’s, Frank spends his free time walking his dog in Wicklow while listening to good podcasts, and admits he probably spends far too much time watching movies and good series on TV!
Emer has over five years of experience in various customer-facing and analyst roles. In her most recent role as an Account Manager and Analyst at Google, she successfully managed a diverse portfolio of Travel industry clients, helping them excel in the online business landscape. Her decision to pivot to the Renewable Energy sector was fuelled by a passion to build a sustainable future and greener Ireland.
Emer’s sports mad, making the rest of the office jealous with her recent trips to the Ryder Cup and Rugby World Cup! She’s our resident sportsperson, playing hockey at senior league level every week for her club.

A little know fact about Ger is that he is an avid carpenter, with a particular focus on wooden toys. In 2009 Ger and Tom worked with a team in Haiti to build a playground at an orphanage there. The kids loved it, especially the zip line!
